Loan Officer

WEA Credit Union is looking for an outgoing, energetic, and detail-oriented individual to fill a full-time Loan Officer position. Normal hours are 8:30am - 5:15pm M-F.

Responsibilities:
• Process personal and mortgage loan applications and guide members through the application process
• Gather background information on loan applicants by interviewing loan applicants, reviewing loan applications, and obtaining credit bureau reports
• Approve or deny loan applications within assigned limits
• Cross‐sell lending and other credit union products, such as payment protection, GAP, and warranty products
• Knowledgeable on all credit union products and services
• Back up other departments as needed
• Answer all member questions in a courteous and professional manner
• Open new accounts and services for new and existing members
• Assist in all collection activities, including initiating small claims and working with attorneys when necessary
• Perform end-of-day procedures

Qualifications
• Ability to exercise good judgment, initiative and tact when dealing with co-workers and credit union members
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of credit union services and philosophy
• Ability to work under stress and deadlines
• Must have high level of member service and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of credit union lending products and services
• Knowledge of Wisconsin Consumer Act, Wisconsin regulations, Federal Regulations as they pertain to lending, and WI collection law
• Have basic Microsoft Office skills
• Be able to lift 35 lbs.
• NMLS preferred

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $42k-50k based on experience

Teller

WEA Credit Union is looking for an outgoing, energetic, and detail-oriented individual to fill a part-time Member Service Representative position. Main duties include teller functions such as recording deposits and loan payments, balancing, interacting with members, answering the telephone, filing, problem solving, and assisting other departments. Normal hours are 7:45AM - 12:45PM M-F; occasional Saturdays.

Successful candidates will:

  • Be accurate, dependable, and punctual
  • Have strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Have experience with cash handling
  • Have basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Be able to lift 35 lbs.
  • Be able to multi-task

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $15.00 per hour
